Arrogance Of Riches

O ye rich men weep and wail; for the miseries come unto you.

Not of condemnation for your riches; but for their gross misuse

Yes, it’s that lust for earthly riches, burning like a consuming fire

Corrupting the values of saints and sinners; preying on moral desires

So go you rich men of corruption go and grow your kingdoms large

Strive for that worldly stature, while your brothers and sisters starve

Amass your gold and your silver; stash your treasures round about

But on the day of God’s true judgment, your worthless riches will sell you out

Now let me tell you of a perfect treasure; a treasure that will never fade

A treasure more precious than gold and silver; a treasure that gave His life away

He’s the riches of God our Father; neither moth nor canker can eat upon

Jesus Christ is that wonderful treasure; His riches are, our

Eternal home

Thank you for this beautiful poem. People who lust for money forget about the real treasure that you have mentioned. This lust also brings lots of sins in their lives too. But when we seek the real treasure there is humility, love, care and worship of the God Most High.

God bless you and your family

Thank you Daniel for your comments. You know, God has this uncanny way of showing us things in his word, things that we have seen hundreds of times, yet for one reason or another we just did not get it. He is showing me a few things that I just breezed through in the Book of James. This particular poem came from Chapter 5, blessing to you Daniel, enjoy this day for we are not promised the morro; Irv
