God's Lips, Tongue and Breath on Tue 16 Jun 2009, 11:09 pm
It is our faith and it is according to what Bible says that God created us in His image and likeness."See, the Name of the LORD comes from afar, with burning anger and dense clouds of smoke; his lips are full of wrath, and his tongue is a consuming fire. His breath is like a rushing torrent rising up to the neck.He shakes the nations in the sieve of destruction he places in the jaws of the peoples a bit that leads them astray. " (Isaiah 30:27-28)
Furthermore, is God a concept of some Alien creature? Many skeptics who try to prove Bible is not the word of God, would call this blasphemy. The reason is simple they do not know God."Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. (Genesis 1:26)
The reader may say that I have used an escape goat here by saying they do not know who God is. Bible tells us the same
The Bible describes how God wants us to relate to him, often using familial language. Jesus taught us to pray to "Our Father in heaven" (Matthew 6:9). God will comfort his people as a mother comforts her child (Isaiah 66:13). In Revelation 21:7, God promises, "He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.""To all who received [Jesus Christ], to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God" (John 1:12-13).
Conclusion
If one cannot describe God then, I believe that he/she is just like an atheist. For they cannot describe God so they do not believe in Him. The most important thing is that, if I cannot explain God to anyone, then I am believing in nothing.
In Isaiah 55:8, God tells us, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." God exists and acts on a higher plane than we humans do. We cannot understand all that he is, or all that he does.
So therefore, when we try to understand God in our human limited intelligence we fail and we come up with such questions, "Does God has hands?", "Does He think?" and so on...
"Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). In short, God has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ and yes God has hands, tongue and lips for we do not believe in an imaginary and nothing god and there is no point in believing in nothing god.
