But when, you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place: and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Mathew 6:6)

Heavenly Father is not interested in how many times do we pray, how long hours do we spend in prayers, or how loudly do we pray. Heavenly Father is interested in our prayers that are sincere and are prayed to His honor and glory. Sometimes when we look around, we find people praying to impress others - but is it the right way? - Do we need to impress others with our prayers, praise and worship? We forget that the reward only lies with Heavenly Father and not with mortal men.

But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Mathew 6:17)

I have seen many people putting up a wonderful show of fasting. As Jacob said, that this life is a pilgrimage, so we do not need to put up shows for the world to acknowledge us as spiritual beings. To my personal experience these are the worst type of people to be around.

Fast is actually if understood in a wider sense, is a time, is a day or days, dedicated to the worship of Heavenly Father. Therefore, it is for Heavenly Father to reward us for our fasts and not men.

We may get a front seat in the Church, but will Heavenly Father approve our fast or prayer that is done to impress others?

Jesus wants everyone including me to pray with the right heart and attitude, not seeking praise of others. And the same goes for fasting. When we fast, we are not supposed to let everybody know.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior and Heavenly as our only true living God in heavens, we surrender everything before Father. In Him, we do not do things for our glory and commendation but we do everything for the honor and glory of Heavenly Father through our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

God bless you all.
