Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?
Let’s look at History and the scripture

From the article of Janet Chismar (crosswalk)
Should Christians Celebrate Christmas? here is some historical perspectives:

“Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the famous English preacher of the last century, wrote, "We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas ... we find no scriptural word whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and consequently, its observance is a superstition, because (it's) not of divine authority ... probably the fact is that the 'holy days' (were) arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals."

“Charles Halff, director of the Christian Jew Foundation, chooses to boycott Christmas because of the pagan connection. "Thousands of years before Jesus was born, the heathen in every country observed Dec. 25 as the birthday of a god who was called the sun god Tummuz." According to all the heathen religions of that time, writes Halff, "Tammuz had a miraculous birth; and for centuries his birthday was celebrated with feasts, revelry and drunken orgies. The heathen celebrated Tammuz's birthday according to the very example he set for them. He was the world's greatest lover of women, strong drink, dirty jokes, and other sensual fun."

“Some, like Claire Shipley of Orlando, downplay the commercial aspects of the holiday and focus on the joyous arrival of Christ "into a dark and sinful world." She says she knows Christmas has a "sordid history" but feels Jesus would approve of taking what once was a pagan feast day and redeeming it. "Isn't that kind of why He came? To save what once was lost?"

I agree with the latter view based on the scriptures that follow:

And if I be lifted up…, I will draw all men unto me (John12:32)

To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
1 Cor 9:22
5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

Ro 14:5-7
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Rom14:17
Think ‘Christ’, This Christmas

Think ‘Christ’, This Christmas
His compassion – not the consumption
His arrival-not rivalry at giving gifts
Or revelry, dirty jokes or orgies
His redemption, not celebration
of a pagan feast day of Tammuz.
Let’s redeem the day and focus on Him,
Whom to know is life eternal
Let’s use Christmas to point to Him
as He draws People to Himself.

Removing Christ from Christmas
leaves you with a pagan Mess called ‘xmas’

The choice is yours.
Make the right choice

I agree with you that more and more people are becoming offensive to Christmas and its celebrations. We are more into putting objections than celebrating Christ. I think these are just excuses made by people not to celebrate Christmas and satan is doing good by linking everything with paganism. People are so fond of connecting everything Christian with pagan rituals. Pagans also believe in god or gods so shall we stop praying, praising and worshiping God? This is what I always tell people who put up lots of objections.

If part of a batch of dough is made holy by offered to God, then all of the dough is holy. If the roots of a tree is holy, the rest of the tree is holy tree. (Romans 11:16)

Anything consecrated to Heavenly Father through Jesus becomes Holy. Like we as sinners become Holy when we consecrate and surrender our bodies, spirits and souls to Heavenly Father.

Evil came into this world through Adam and evil was conquered through Jesus and the same very Adam who became evil, now has become holy through Jesus and son of the God the Most High.

Merry Christmas Fenny and God bless you and your family

Yes Christians should celebrate Christmas and there is nothing wrong in it. Those who say it is a pagan ritual then I would say that they have pagan thoughts. Merry Christmas
