Are you unsure of what the future holds? Do you find it hard to trust in the unknown and the unseen? You are not alone; this is something that all of us deal with at some time or another. Although it may seem difficult to trust God, you can decide today to entrust every aspect of your life to Him. When you turn the controls of your life over to your heavenly Father, He will lead you into the abundant life.

We live in a world that is filled with facts and figures. Our daily planners are filled with things to do and goals to achieve. We are constantly faced with decisions that affect our lives in a positive or negative way. Many times we step out on things not knowing the ultimate outcome, but just hoping that things will work out. At other times, out of fear, we avoid taking any steps at all.

There is a fail–safe way to live your life and make decisions that will always take you in the right direction–by developing confidence in God and His Word. Without confidence, you simply won't have the ability to trust Him. Just as in any other relationship, your confidence and trust in God comes only when you spend time with Him every day. By fellowshipping with the Father through prayer and reading His Word, your confidence in Him will grow.

Spending time with God on a daily basis will take a quality decision on your part and a willingness to set aside the necessary time just for Him. It has to become a priority. The more you read His Word, the better you will be able to distinguish His voice when He is speaking to you. In addition, His Word reveals His character, which is love (1 John 4:16). When you know that God loves you, you will be firmly established on the truth that He cares about you and knows how to direct your life.
If you find it hard to trust the Lord, and you are concerned with how your future will turn out, turn to the Scriptures for guidance. Proverbs 3:5–7 declares, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil." The Word instructs us to acknowledge God in all our ways. This means consulting Him before making any decisions.

Whether it is a business deal or a decision to purchase a home, relocate to another city or pursue a particular goal, trusting God means going to Him first. When you seek Him this way, you position yourself to gain the wisdom necessary to make your decisions. Further, you demonstrate that you trust Him no matter what. Depend on God to lead and you can't go wrong.

I'm sure you have hopes and dreams that you desire to become realities. While trying to pursue your aspirations, you may not know which direction or path to take. However, you don't have to be consumed with worry over whether or not your dreams will manifest. The Bible declares, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9, AMP). God knows your heart. He is aware of the desires that He put in your heart and He will fulfill those desires as you acknowledge Him.

You may be wondering how your bills will be paid or whether you will be able to find a new job. Whatever your circumstances, don't allow yourself to become discouraged. Uncertainty and discouragement can lead to a whirlwind of emotions that are in opposition to God's Word. Instead of becoming overwhelmed with your situation, seek the Lord for direction and instruction. Trust Him to show you what you need to do and remain confident that He is able to perfect everything that concerns you.

Learning to trust God with ease doesn't happen overnight; it is a process. Take some time to reflect on all the situations God has brought you through. Think about how He directed your footsteps in the midst of past circumstances. When you recognize that God is concerned with every detail of your life, you will find it effortless to rely on Him.

Your heavenly Father knows how to take you to your destiny. "For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death" (Psalm 48:14). Stand on this scripture if you find it difficult to trust the Lord. Meditate on the truth that God is your ever–present help and guide through life. Even though you may not know the specifics, you can still have confidence every moment simply because you trust God to lead you. He will do more than you can ask or think.
