'Pride goes before destruction’
The wise will take instruction
Come from the wisest of minds;
That is the way to renew your mind.

This is the time to surrender all
A time to let go and avert the fall
This is the time to heed His call
Whosoever, great or even small.

This was the waterloo of Lucifer
Who wanted to overthrow God
So let us be quick to decipher
When pride opposes the word.

Pride will exaggerate its exploits
Pose for the camera like the turkey
It magnifies its ego, causes riots
Pretends it is not an enemy.

Pride is also false humility
A masquerade to deceive
It can be intellectual impunity
Ethnic superiority or nerve

Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.

Better to be lowly in spirit
and among the oppressed
than to share plunder with the proud.
