A Lighthouse

A Lighthouse
We have sailed our ships through ebbing tides
And we have maneuvered through shallow sands
We’ve felt the brunt of gale forced winds
And have seen the abyss first hand
We have voyaged across vast oceans
And we have tasted their salty sprays
We’ve navigated dark and briny seas
And lost loved ones under the waves
We have brushed against the rocky cliffs
And we have wrecked upon hidden reefs
We’ve sank into the deepest gulf
And drowned at tempest peak
And all this time a lighthouse has shown through our plight
A safe harbor within our grasp; if we look to see the light
A ray of hope in our darkness; a signal from the Lord
For Jesus is that lighthouse; overlooking troubled shores
