Reality Comes Screaming
Reality Comes Screaming
Far from His carpenter home and His life as a Nazarene
Deep in the bowels of a Roman prison; recollection, but a dream
Far from the many wanting crowds and the anointing oils of love
Far from the baptism of John and the Spirit ascending like a dove
Reality comes screaming; reins of leather lash and sting
Bringing agony to the bone; the scourge’s whip does sing
Tearing flesh, streams of blood; the tormentor inflicts his pain
Leather wet from sweat and blood; a mist of red does rain
Far from the times of twelve and trips to the festival made
Far from Bethlehem’s manger and the innocence of a babe
A scepter of a simple reed; a ring of thorns crown His head
Ridiculed as King of the Jews; His woolen robe drips red
Far from the sermon’s mount and parables of lost sheep
Far from Gethsemane’s garden where disciples fell asleep
Crucified on Golgotha; between two thieves nailed to a cross
He gave himself to all who believed; he gave himself for the lost
We are far from Christ’ crucifixion; we are far from His pain
And we will ALL bust Hell wide open; less we call upon His name
Far from His carpenter home and His life as a Nazarene
Deep in the bowels of a Roman prison; recollection, but a dream
Far from the many wanting crowds and the anointing oils of love
Far from the baptism of John and the Spirit ascending like a dove
Reality comes screaming; reins of leather lash and sting

Re: Reality Comes Screaming
So true! Sometimes I really feel ashamed of my life. I try and try but then my faith in Jesus says there is VICTORY in Him. Only Jesus is all we need and there is no other Savior apart from Jesus.
God bless

Re: Reality Comes Screaming
Sorry Irv I missed this one and yes I would also agree with all the others. God is so kind to us that He uses people like us with no special abilities to glorify Him and Him only. I feel very special when ever my mouth utters the name of Jesus Christ as I know that Jesus does the same in front of Heavenly Father. I am blessed so much to know you all. Even though I get little time to spend on the forum but it has become a part of my life and when I don't come online, I feel something is missing. I am blessed to know two great poets (Fenny and Irv), whose thoughts glorify Heavenly Father through Jesus. How much more can we be blessed if our thoughts praise Father through Jesus for we are carriers of God's presence.
God bless you and your family

Re: Reality Comes Screaming
Reality does come screamning when even though we are far from
the event of Golgatha, we are to take our cross also and join in
His sufferings. Reality will come as a shock to those lukewarm believers
who believe the lie they will never have to suffer for righteousness sake.
Loved this poem. EXALT
