The Making of the American Dream

Post  Fenny West on Fri 07 Nov 2008, 7:27 am

The unlikeliest of candidates he was
With colour standing before him and history
‘Inexperienced!’ they cried, to derail him
Break his resolve, his focus in the dream.

Though hard-pressed on all sides
He pressed on and was not crushed
They even questioned his citizenship
But he kept his cool in the ship

He kept his hand on the plough
Barrack refused to look back
They then dug at his name-
Hussein, as if to dig a hole
for him to fall in, but he foresaw it
leapt over the valley and chasm.

Then they tried religious smear
Even this did not stick.
He used the stumbling block
as a stepping stone to a higher ground.
He forged ahead in spite of the head wind.
He kept his focus like the eagle.

He prayed on it, sought solace
and asked his wife, the rock of his life
Whether to run the White House race
And she said, ‘Yes, you can!’

Today, the prophesy of forty years
Has now come to pass before our eyes.
We have an opportunity to build with him,
change with him, cooperate with him
pray for him for wisdom,for
fortitude, integrity, humility
indelible, undeniable
and admirable legacy.

Yes, we can!
Where there is a will there is a way.

Let’s pray Paul’s prayer for Him:

That ( God ) would grant President-elect,Barack Obama), according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17That Christ may dwell in (his) heart by faith; that (Obama), being rooted and grounded in love,
18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that (Obama) might be filled with all the fulness of God.

(Ephe3:16-20)

17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto (Obama) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18The eyes of (his) understanding being enlightened; that (he) may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Eph1:17-20

I like the way you exonerated Obama. Although I do not like him but even the poem is good.

God bless you and your family

Let us pray!

Thank you for your honesty, Waqar

We all have our flaws. Thank God that prayer changes things.

As we pray for our leaders God will do what we cannot do.

His achievement gives hope to the hopeless.

That is what matters-being inspired to over come your obstacles and fulfilling God's vision for your life.

Fenny

I agree with you here and we must submit to God's will. My disliking Obama is not based on his race. Actually Democrats have a soft heart for India and this gives rise to terrorists and terrorism in Pakistan. Like Clinton, he was more interested in making India a Nuclear Power than in hunting down Osama Bin Laden, who had become a menace for USA. He completely shut his eyes on the fact that Pakistan is harboring terrorists on its soil. Same will be repeated again and we all will pay the same price.

God bless you
