A Picture of Christ
I saw a picture of Christ, one time
He was kneeling beside a rock
In white linen and a scarlet robe
With dark skies as the back drop
A crown of light surrounded His head
As He looked to the Father above
And a beam of light came from Heaven
From the presence of God’s love
With praying hands upon the rock
He knelt there in the garden
Pondering of the cup He drinks
And asking God, for His pardon
On His face the anguish of men
But the obedience of God’s Son
And on His lips the trusting prayer
Of the Father’s will, to be done
And I could see in the picture there
Christ praying for all mankind
And I wondered, looking at my Savior
Was He praying for me, at this time?
