Faith and love are twins
That will help you win.
With faith you please God,
Reap promises in His Word.
Quench fiery darts- arrows
That bring deep sorrows.
That can derail a saint
When they are very faint.

But Faith works by love-
The greatest of all.
Love needs to be proved
Not giving up at all;
Like picking people up
When they fail or fall
Despite what’s in your cup
Just like the example of Paul.

This love is God-kind
Shed abroad in you heart
Water it in your mind
A good place to start
Then you will not be behind.
As you play and pave your part
And your foe you will bind.
Isn’t that just very smart?

In your race of grace
Let love grow in grace
And take you places
Barred to faith
Not in your strength
Not in your might

Feed your faith
With the word
And with love
Love in action
Not just in word
Not in feeling
That come and go;
But as a decision
Stemming from God;
His motivation,
His compulsion,
His direction
And His inspiration.

Faith and Love are Twins

...the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel Col.1:15

[Timothy's Encouraging Report ] But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you.1Thes3:6

But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.1Thes.5:8

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.1Tim.1:14

What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.2 Tim.1:13

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Gal 5:22

26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. James 2:26

How Faith Comes

17Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

Rom 10 17

Exploits of faith

6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.Heb.11:6

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted,[f] were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, Heb.11:31-39

Faith will be tested

Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

The Greatest is Love
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love

If you want your faith to work, work on your love.

Great poem. Enjoyed... Yes we need faith to please God,
for by our faith we are counted righteous as Abraham was.
His faith, belief God counted as righteousness. And without
love we are nothing, 1 Corinthians 13. We must walk in His
love and we do that by... "If you love me you will keep my
commandments". They are all written in the Word for us to
live wholely. Enjoyed. Blessings Faith and Love are Twins Icon_cheers
