Wednesday
A good friend died, this passed Wednesday
He picked up a pistol, and blew his mind away
They say that stress can do, a variety of awful things;
Wednesday, it was powder burns; and the loss of hope and dreams
Blame circumstance, blame medication, blame counseling or the lack there of
Blame work, or an employee’s death; blame the lack of a woman’s love
Blame it how you will; blame my friend for a selfish act;
But Satan is the deceiver; and he distorts the facts
Wednesday my good friend, he gave in to the lies
And later on that evening; his body was left to die
But I hope in the moments, those moments between life and death
That my friend asked for forgiveness; and God said come and rest

I am sorry about your friend. I agree with you that we tend to blame others for our failures. The poem you have written carries a great message and I pray that it reaches many souls.
