The Father's Bosom

All our lives we are
Busy, building, doing,
When we are gone -
It all will cease.
What we are is not
Our wealth
But our Character.
Life is so short.
It is hard and not
Always fair.
We may try to
Short change it -
Manipulate it -
Cheat it -
But it always gets us
In the end.
We all stand in front
Of the mirror
Of honesty.
We see the reflection
Of what we had become
And we answer to it.
I am but a man
A humble man
A sinful man.
I only hope to be
Blessed, to be forgiven.
To be healed -
To be taken within
The Father's Bosom.
I do not want to
Weep like the willow tree
And turn my roots
Without for lack of water,
And cry tears of poison.
Oh remember My soul
