My Earnest Prayer
Dear most gracious Heavenly Father,
Hallowed be your holy name. O Lord, we thank you that we, dust and ashes, are able to come before you and claim your promises and be redeemed by the precious blood of your dear Son. We thank you for life; that we are able to breathe, and live, and laugh. Father, your mercies never cease and no pen can express the joy we feel at this hour and the gratitude for your longsuffering mercies. My God, give us all more humility and the agape love of Jesus, which never fails. Help us to put others before us. Let love motivate us. Let us covet pain and toil for the upliftment of your name and your cause. Help us to drink more deeply of the fountain of life and arouse ourselves to do your work.
Lord, we pray for all believers in you worldwide. Lord, we pray for the hungry and the dying; the grieving and the agonizing. Comfort them at this hour. Give them hope. We know now that there are those who are being persecuted and ridiculed. But Lord, let their faith burn brighter through the trials. And Father, as we close, we pray that you will unite us as one body of believers in Jesus Christ, for you are coming for a united, not divided church. Lord, be patient with our weaknesses and failures and forgive and cleanse us of all sin, which is hideous in your eyes.
In the blessed name of the Most High we do pray, Amen.
