Ernie Howell’s Farewell
Ernie Howell’s Farewell
Had much to tell
Of a man sold-out
To God without a doubt.
Legendary commentator of Detroit Tigers
At his desk continuously, fifty years
Spreading warmth, kindness, goodness
Until he said his final farewell.
At 91, challenged by cancer, gave interview
Using the occasion to give glory to God;
To the One Who cleansed him, saved him,
gave him assurance of heaven
as he looked at the other side of the river
he had no regrets, but with great anticipation
of entering the Door,
the loving Arms of the great I Am
He sang His praise, extolled His name.

Re: Ernie Howell’s Farewell
This is how we should live our race...
endure to the end.. with HOPE and
THANKSGIVING IN ALL THINGS...
Truly a remarkable man... Let our legacy
be the way we lived and the lives we touched.
Blessings..
