The Flat Line

The monitor showed, a thin flat line
No peaks no troughs, no rhythm of time
No matter the love, or prayers prayed
Before my eyes, you faded away
And despite the pain and many tears cried
The world kept on spinning, the day you died
I felt kind of angry, I felt kind of betrayed
And I found it kind of hard, to praise the Lord today

But then came the touch, the stirring in my spirit
The truth about God and I didn’t want to hear it
I was sent to serve the Lord, my life’s reality
I was sent to serve God, He doesn’t serve me
For God allows our actions and the balances of nature
And they run their courses, no matter whose favor
Which means life on my terms, just isn’t God’s way
That’s why I found it hard, to praise the Lord today

Irv, you have my most heart felt sympathy. I am sorry for the loss of
your loved one. You are in my prayers brother. May the Lord be gracious
to you, and heal the wound and tears. ~ Sad Sad Cinda
