Where is Your God? (1)
Ps 42
'You dreamer, dreaming big
Dreaming again and again
See where the dream has left you.
Where is your God?
See how you’re wasting away in prison;
You think God is with you.
But then see how He has abandoned you;
Even the butler whose dream you interpreted
has forgotten you, even though
you told him to remember you.
You are gong to rot in this jail.'
'Father of many nations
Is that your name?
Excuse me!
Why would you have a name like that
when you have nothing to show for it?
Who gave you that name in the first place?
What a mockery, "Father of many nations"
Where is your God? Where is the promise?
Forget about the nation, where is the child?
Is it not ridiculous going about with such a name?
Where is your God?
Favour is your name? And you are barren?
What type of favour is that?
See my children. One of them is a lawyer;
the other is an accountant and another, an architect.
If anyone is favoured, you know who.
And see I am pregnant again
Popping out the children like popcorn..
Where is your God?'
'You killed Goliath?
And what are you doing in this cave?
Why are you taking cover amongst the Philistines?
How pathetic; what a shame that you should be seeking refuge
In the camp of the enemies of Israel.
You killed Goliath. the champion of the Philistines,
now you are an outcast from your own land
and seeking refuge in Goliaths house?
You are wasting away in this wilderness
And you are still trusting God?
Where is your God?
'Saviour of the world?
Miracle Worker?
And now you are on the cross, helpless?
"Destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days"
But here you are beaten broken battered, bleeding.
Where is your God?
Where is all the power you were displaying?
If you are the Son of God, save us and save yourself.'
"He saved others but He could not save Himself."
This may be where you’re at.
You hear the taunts blaring,
Screaming at you, trumpeted, because
you have fallen on hard times
You appear to be I total ruin,
There seems to be no hope.
It appears you have reached
a point of no return.
Satan is telling you to give up and die.
Throw in the towel.
God has abandoned you.
Just like each one of the stories and scenarios mirrored.
We saw God show Himself strong for Abraham.
He suffered humiliation and seeming delay, but
At the appointed time, Laughter came.
Your laughter is coming if you will keep trusting.
Do not give up. Put you hope in God and
You will yet praise Him.
Say to your soul, 'My soul, be not down cast,
for I will yet praise Him.
Joseph was vindicated when he came out prison, after those years in dungeon, to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. His destiny was fulfilled, against all the odds against him.'You dreamer, dreaming big

Hold on to your integrity like Joseph and like Job. Pursue God, worship Him, be devoted to Him, despite what you’re going through and He will bring you through. He did it for David at Ziglag.
Like Hannah, He will lift you up from the dunghill and seat you among princes. The ‘child’ he will give you will be more than seven children.
Like Jabez, cry out to Him and He will hear you and deliver you and you will glorify Him.
Like Job, worship Him even when you have lost everything. So long as you have Him you have everything. Your victory is in your praise. Like Paul and Silas, your victory is in your praise.
Like Jesus, it may be your Friday, when all hell broke loose upon you. But Sunday- your day of resurrection is coming.
Psalm 42
To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation[a] of the sons of Korah.
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?[b]
3 My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”
4 When I remember these things,
I pour out my soul within me.
For I used to go with the multitude;
I went with them to the house of God,
With the voice of joy and praise,
With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.[c]
O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,
And from the heights of Hermon,
From the Hill Mizar.
7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life.
9 I will say to God my Rock,
“Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 As with a breaking of my bones,
My enemies reproach me,
While they say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
