persevere through trial. John 16:2

"They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God." John 16:2
I seek peace. I do not want to stir up controversy. But the world hated Jesus and it hates us too. If we don't face some persecution sometimes, how can we know that we are imitating Jesus who faced persecution at times. But the persecution we face is not a punishment for our error. The persecution we face is from a dying world that is suffering pain and in its agony lashes out or bites the hand that feeds it. The great commission is to go and make disciples of all nations. This commission was given to us on account of God's love for mankind and if we love God, we are going to be bitten even by the sheep who only knows that it is hungry and has not learned to discern the difference between food and our hand. So like sheep sent among wolves, let us be as shrewd as vipers and let us persevere at being as gentle as doves.
