Be a Barnabas
Carrier of Comfort
Son of Consolation
Succouring those suffering
Exclusion, isolation, condemnation
Bring them into warmth.

Be a Barnabas
Encouraging acceptance;
Who gives second a chance,
To people regardless of their past
Full of faith, hope and love
Lifting people out of the pits of past failures.

Be a Barnabas
Finding fulfilment
In the enrichment of others;
Seeing his assignment
as empowering others,
to fulfil their dreams.

'When [Barnabas] arrived... he... encouraged them all to remain true... He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith...' (Acts 11:23-24 NIV)

'When [Paul] came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles...' (Acts 9:26-27 NIV).
...Barnabas... encouraged them all...' Acts 11:22-23
, '...Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement)' (Acts 4:36 NIV
: '...they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples...' (Acts 14:21-22 NIV).
the church at Jerusalem sent Barnabas, who 'encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord... and a great number of people were brought to the Lord'.
). It was Barnabas who encouraged them to accept Paul and work with him as a brother in Christ. When Paul didn't want to take John Mark with them because of a perceived failure, Barnabas gave him a second chance. Later Paul acknowledged what a great asset John Mark was. Indeed, he ended up writing the Gospel of Mark, but without encouragement from Barnabas it might not have happened.
36 And Joses,[d] who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet. Acts4:36-37

Very few people realize the courage of Barnabas. He had to embrace
Saul who became Paul. He was a great exhorter and encourager, mostly
for the disciples to not give up hope. He also helped with the split of Mark
and Paul. He mended a lot of hard feelings in the early body of Believers. I find
that this is just amazing. blessing~
