Our Dependency on God
Our dependency on God
Not a sign of our weakness
But a sign of our wisdom:
Acknowledging his sovereignty.
Like babies need changing
And holding and changing
And holding and changing
So do we need His love unfailing.
Where would we be without His breath?
Where would we be without His daily care?
What will happen without His comfort?
What would happen without His keeping power?
What a chaos without his peace!
How sick we would be without His healing!
How hopeless we would be without the God of Hope!
How empty we would be without His fullness!
1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good. Ps14:1
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2Cor12:9
23 Thus says the LORD:
“ Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the LORD. Jer9:23
He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. Ps147:10
A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength Ps33:17
Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep. Ps127:1-2
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 1Cor1:27
1 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah Ps46:1-3
