From there [Abram] went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. --Genesis 12:8

The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him. --Exodus 15:2

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? --Numbers 23:19

The Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to Him. --Deuteronomy 4:7

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. --Joshua 1:9 Because they cried out to him during the battle, He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him. --I Chronicles 5:20

The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. David the King also rejoiced greatly. David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, “Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; You are exalted as head over all.” --I Chronicles 29:9-11

Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of Yours? --II Chronicles 1:10

Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying in Your presence. --II Chronicles 6:19

Now, my God, may Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. --II Chronicles 6:40

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. --II Chronicles 7:14

The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, His holy dwelling place. --II Chronicles 30:27

In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. --I Samuel 1:10

As she kept on praying to the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk..."Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief." --I Samuel 1:12-13, 15-16

Then Hannah prayed and said: 'My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in Your deliverance. There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides You; there is no Rock like our God.' --I Samuel 2:1-2

So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? --I Kings 3:3

Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying in Your presence this day. --I Kings 8:28

If they turn back to You with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and pray to You toward the land You gave their fathers, toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name; then from heaven, Your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause. And forgive Your people, who have sinned against You; forgive all the offenses they have committed against You. --I Kings 8:48-49

And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night, that He may uphold the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel according to each day's need, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and there is no other. --I Kings 8:59-60

The Lord said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. --I Kings 19:11-12

And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people. --II Chronicles 30:18-20

King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this. --II Chronicles 32:20

"O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of this Your servant and to the prayer of Your servants who delight in revering Your name. Give Your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man." --Nehemiah 1:11

Offer sacrifices pleasing to the God of heaven and pray for the well-being of the king and his sons. --Ezra 6:10

The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him, but his great anger is against all who forsake him." So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer. --Ezra 8:22-23

But if you will look to God and plead with the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your rightful place. --Job 8:5-6

y face is red with weeping, deep shadows ring my eyes; yet my hands have been free of violence and my prayer is pure. --Job 16:16-17

You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. --Job 22: 27-28

My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. --Job 42:8
