excerpt from:
Eagle Odyssey
and the
Christian Journey

The eagle is remarkable in life and in death. After reigning in the skies for decades and after renewing her strength –mid-life, obtained the ‘second wind’ she knows that the end of the road has come. It is almost finished; the grim reaper is round the corner; it’s curtain call time; the silver cord will soon be snapped, the golden bowl will soon be broken and the pitcher will soon be shattered at the fountain; the wheel will be broken at the well; (Eccle12:6-7) the spirit will soon return to Who gave it. And so she goes to a remote mountain region and stands at the edge of the cliff, where she gazes into the sun until she dies.
What a dignity, how remarkable!
This is nothing but the ‘grace of dying and dying well’. She is not afraid of dying she is well-prepared for it. She has finished her work and now ready to go.
For you to face the Son confidently like the eagle does on the day of death, Jesus has to take His rightful place in your heart. This is the day of salvation this is the acceptable time. There is a hereafter. Jesus is a coming for his bride- the Church.
Are you part of the Bride of Christ? How do you become part of the Bride? It is by surrendering your life to Christ, confessing your sin and inviting Christ to forgive you of your sins as the Holy Spirit convicts you of them. He immerses you into the Body of Christ. Unless you are born again, you are in for a rude awakening after death. Its gloom, doom, damnation, eternal separation from God, weeping and gnashing of teeth:

24 "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,'
26 then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.'
27 But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.Luke13:24-28
“But the most important message of the Bible is that death isn't the end of you. You don't have to fear it, because Jesus conquered it. Because Jesus died on the cross for you and was raised from the dead to conquer death, you can know for sure that you'll spend eternity in Heaven. Hebrews 2:15 tells us, "Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying" (NLT).
I'm not afraid of dying, because I know where I'm going.”
Do you know where you are going in case you die today. Paul knew where he was going after he died: ‘absent in the body, present with the Lord’ Rick Warren
God wants us to die like the brave eagle, standing on a Rock and facing the Son.

I came in His name
As He ordained
Paid the price
Ruled the skies
Obtained the prize
As He graced my race.
And now that I am done
A new light has dawned
As I gaze at the Son
And the ray of His Sun
In heaven above.

Time for relocation
Time for celebration
Time for rewards
Time for reunion
Time for blessed Rest
After passing the test.

No more fears, tears
or wear and tear
No more sorrow
furrows or arrows
Safe in His arms
Everlasting Arms.
Time for rejoicing
No more weeping.
Home at last
With the Best
For the best.

1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."
6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, "Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife."
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.Rev21:1-11
