Now that you’re in Christ,
You’re a New Creature,
With a New Nature-
A divine nature,
With a great future.
You’re created for Good works
So, away with all dead works!

It’s time to live a life of love,
Because you’re born of love,
Born again from above;
Born and in training to reign
With the King of kings
And Lord of lords.

It’s time to change your wardrobe!

Put off the old, to put on the new;
Put on righteousness robe;
Put off the slit of slander;
Put on Helmet of salvation
Befitting a New Creation.
Put off watch of suspicion;
Put off the shoes of selfishness
And put on the shoes of the Gospel.
Put away the necklace of rage
And anger that leads to danger,
Idolatry, adultery and impurity,
Animosity, insensitivity ,
That bring nothing but misery.

Tear that trouser of unforgiven,
That wraps round you like chains
like a straight jacket,
Making you its victim and prisoner.

Change your wardrobe,
Child of the Most High God!

Get rid of the tie of lie,
The coat of covetousness;
The hat of hatred, defamation.
The belt of half-truths must go
For the Holy Spirit to flow.

Ditch all dirtyand foul language;
The short of sexual improprieties
That set you up for diseases.
Bring in integrity, purity, mercy,
Peace from the Prince of Peace.
Love, joy, goodness, gentleness
Should be your new clothes.

You have been chosen,
Raised from the dead,
Accepted and forgiven
Even as you confessed your sin;
With Christ as your new Head.

You’re now with Christ, seated
As Newly Created and separated
The old has gone and the new has come.
Your life is hidden in Him.
You’re redeemed, purchased,
Ransomed as His treasured possession;
Apple of His eyes, His ambassador
And Heaven’s bona fide citizen;
An actor, visitor, traveller on earth;
In this world but not of this world.

Change your wardrobe!

Renew your mind,
Mind your mind,
Find His mind,
Garbage out
Holiness in.
See through His eyes.
Think His thoughts.
Speak His words.
Sweep the house clean.
Empty the bin.
Let in the Wind
To blow away the chaff.
Seek His help.
Let go the weight
That easily hinders.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2Cor:5:17

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Galatians 5:17

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.

In every believer's heart there is a constant struggle between the old nature and the new. The old nature is very active, and loses no opportunity of plying all the weapons of its deadly armoury against newborn grace; while on the other hand, the new nature is ever on the watch to resist and destroy its enemy. Grace within us will employ prayer, and faith, and hope, and love, to cast out the evil; it takes unto it the "whole armour of God," and wrestles earnestly. These two opposing natures will never cease to struggle so long as we are in this world. The battle of "Christian" with "Apollyon" lasted three hours, but the battle of Christian with himself lasted all the way from the Wicket Gate in the river Jordan. The enemy is so securely entrenched within us that he can never be driven out while we are in this body: but although we are closely beset, and often in sore conflict, we have an Almighty helper, even Jesus, the Captain of our salvation, who is ever with us, and who assures us that we shall eventually come off more than conquerors through Him. With such assistance the new-born nature is more than a match for its foes. Are you fighting with the adversary to-day? Are Satan, the world, and the flesh, all against you? Be not discouraged nor dismayed. Fight on! For God Himself is with you; Jehovah Nissi is your banner, and Jehovah Rophi is the healer of your wounds. Fear not, you shall overcome, for who can defeat Omnipotence? Fight on, "looking unto Jesus"; and though long and stern be the conflict, sweet will be the victory, and glorious the promised reward.

"From strength to strength go on;

Wrestle, and fight, and pray,

Tread all the powers of darkness down,

And win the well-fought day."
C.H. Spurgeon
