When I met my cousin just over a month ago at the Hackney Empire where his daughter was performing a lead role in the fabulous, magnificent, mesmerising musical, Soul Sister, it was like a dream come true or coming true, after years of toil and hardship. It was as if the table was set. It’s dinner time! I don’t know the plans he had but if I were in his shoes I would have plans and big plans too and so will his daughter. Wouldn't you?

Sadly, a few weeks later, he had a stroke and has now gone to be with the Lord. No one knows tomorrow. We have to be ready to meet our Maker anytime. We must put God first, seek His Kingdom first and leave the rest to Him who is sovereign to determine the outcome. And God knows when it is best to call the final curtain call. So put God first in your plans.

My comfort is that my cousin is in a better place, released from temptation, pain and suffering and I will see him again on the last day because Jesus was the Lord of his life.

When you put God first
You won’t be the last
Plan with God in mind
You won’t be behind.

Who knows tomorrow?
Only God does know
What He says will stand
None can thwart His plans.

Man is limited
God, unlimited.

Jacko had great plans
Scuppered were the plans.
Amy had amiable plans
Shattered were the plans
Whitney had huge plans
Dashed, ruined were the plans
Elvis had wild plans
But where are those plans?

Where is God in your plans?
Ditch false confidence
Count on His presence;
On the approval
Of the One over all.

He upholds all things
Determines all things
As the Sovereign God
And God of gods.

We depend on Him
and answer to Him
He has final say
On how things will play.

Lord, Your will be done
And your Kingdom come.
Lead me as I press on
Guide me all the way

I plan with you in mind
And will not be behind.
O that your will I will find
As I renew my mind.

5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
John15:5-8
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."
16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.Jam4:13-17

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
Prov3:5-7
22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.
Prov15:22
9 A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
Prov.16:9
21 There are many plans in a man's heart, Nevertheless the LORD's counsel --- that will stand.Prov19:21
22 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Mark8:36
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
Rom1:22
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully.
17 And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?'
18 So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry." '
20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'
21 "So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
Luke 12:16-21

Is Jesus Lord of your life?
Is He Lord of all?
Unless He is Lord of ALL
He is not Lord at at all.
