Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. --Matthew 1:35

Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray. --Mark 6:45-46

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. --Mark 11:22-24

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." --Mark 11:25

My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. --Luke 1:46-48

[Anna] was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. --Luke 2:37

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." --Luke 3:21-22

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. --Luke 6:12 Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. --Luke 6:28

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." --Luke 11:1

He said to them, "When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation." --Luke 11: 2-4

So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. --Luke 11:9-10

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. --Luke 18:1

I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. --Luke 32:22 When [Jesus] rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. --Luke 22:45

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. --John 10:14

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. --John 14: 13-14

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. --John 15:7

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. --John 15:16

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. --John 16:24

I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they are Yours...Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name--the name You gave Me--so that they may be one as We are one. --John 17:9, 11

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. --John 17:15

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message. --John 17:20

Then they prayed, "Lord, You know everyone's heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen. --Acts 1:24

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. --Acts 2:42-43

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. --Acts 4:31

"[We] will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word." --Acts 6:4

They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. --Acts 6:6

While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep. --Acts 7:59-60

When [Peter and John] arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. --Acts 8:15

You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin." -Acts 8:21-23

Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. -Acts 9:40

Cornelius stared at him in fear. "What is it, Lord?" he asked. The angel answered, "Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. --Acts 10:4

Cornelius answered: "Four days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me 31and said, 'Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. -Acts 10:30-31

And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.' --Acts 22:16

[Publius'] father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. -Acts 28:8

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times. --Romans 1:8-9

We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. -- Romans 5:3-5

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." --Romans 8:15

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. --Romans 8:26

Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. --Romans 10:1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship...Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Honor one another above yourselves. --Romans 12:1,9

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. --Romans 12:12

I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there, so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed. --Romans 15:30-32

Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. --I Corinthians 7:5

I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. --I Corinthians 14:15

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. --II Corinthians 1:10-11

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." --Galatians 4:6

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. --Ephesians 1:16

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. --Ephesians 1:18

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. --Ephesians 2:18 In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. --Ephesians 3:12

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. --Ephesians 3:14-15

Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. --Ephesians 3:20-21

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand…And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. --Ephesians 6:13, 18

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. --Philippians 4:6-7

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. --Colossians 3:15

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message." --Colossians 4:2-3

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. --I Thessalonians 5:16-18

And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. --II Thessalonians 3:2

May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance. --II Thessalonians 3:5

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the Word of God and prayer. If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. --I Timothy 4:4-6

I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. --II Timothy 1:3

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. --I Timothy 2:1-4

I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. --II Timothy 1:3

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. --Hebrews 10:22

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. --James 1:5

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. --James 5:16

Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. --I Peter 3:10-12

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. --I Peter 4:7

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him." --I John 3:21-22

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us. Whatever we ask --we know that we have what we asked of Him. --I John 5:14-15

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. --Revelation 4:8
