Scripture: Exodus 6:1-6:9
1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land."
2 And God spoke to Moses and said to him: "I am the LORD.
3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.
4 I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers.
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.
6 Therefore say to the children of Israel: 'I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
9 So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.

Intro: In this passage Moses is going to the Hebrew Children in Egypt to preach a sermon of hope to them. God says that he is going to lead them out of bondage. He commands Moses to go to Pharaoh and demand the people’s release. The ten plagues are about to begin, but the Israelites upon hearing the words of Moses hearkened not in their suffering (v. 9). They doubted God’s plan. God, however, had said to Moses that he would keep his word, and he gave him confirmation in a reminder in verse 3. These great miracles would be accomplished because he was Jehovah (Yahweh: the I Am the self-existent one, the everlasting God), and as he revealed himself to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, he was the God Almighty (El Shaddai: the almighty potentate, the source of all blessings, the God who is more than enough). He would deliver from Egypt by whatever means necessary, because whatever means that were necessary were not outside his abilities. Jehovah is the I Am; El Shaddai is more than enough. He is telling us, “I Am More Than Enough!” He still is the El Shaddai.
You can know it; try him. He’s More Than Enough For:
I. Your Hunger; Taste Him, and He Will Please Your Spirit:
Amos 8:11-13 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst."
I Peter 2:2-3 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious."
Isaiah 55:1-2 "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness."
Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

There is a spiritual famine in the land today, but there is bread for the hungry. Exodus 3:2, the Word was sweetness to the soul. Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone (Matt 4:4). John 6:35, and 6:48, he is the bread of life. Manna eaters died, but he is El Shaddai! He is the Bread of Life.

II. Your Trials; Test Him, and He Will Pass The Test: Exodus 14, Red Sea experience. They were learning that God would pass the test. I Kings 19, when Elijah called fire down from heaven. They were testing the El Shaddai and Baal, but El Shaddai was more than enough to pass the test. Judges 6:36-40, Gideon tried him, and God passed the test. He passed the smoke test in Daniel 3, passed the lion test in Daniel 6, passed the water test in Genesis 6, passed the prison test in Acts 16, passed the graveyard test in Matthew 28, passed the flight test in Acts 1, passed the test of time across the ages and is not slack concerning his promise… He is more than enough!

III. Your Family; Trust Him, and He Will Provide the Need:

He will provide for your family:
A. When You’re In Poverty: II Kings 4 (pot of oil)
B. When You’re Pleading: II Sam 21 (sons of Rizpah), pleading for her children
C. When You’re Pressured: Gen 22 (Abraham and Isaac), children don’t always understand, but God will provide a way to demonstrate to them his provisions!

IV. Your Heartbreak; Tell Him, and He Will Hear Your Prayers: When you can’t fix things yourself, when it’s out of your hands, when like Hagar in Genesis 21, you have put things our of your hand and all you can do is weep and call out to God, he will hear your cry. When you’re going down in the pit, he will incline unto you (Psalms 40). Yes, “I am poor and needy, yet the Lord thinketh upon me,” Ps 40:17. Is 59:1.
