Savagery of Sandy

Post  fennywest on Mon 05 Nov 2012, 8:38 pm

Merciless Sandy,
Strode, struck calamity;
Vomited mayhem and in savagery,
Her face like a flint.
She was unrelenting in her pounding,
Overturning, challenging and killing;
Her bombardment unprecedented.

She was defiant and adamant,
Like a bulldog found a bone.
She shattered dreams,
Turned off the light and life of many;
Evoked memory of Katrina,
She refused every appeasement,
Or attempt at containment,
Fire and brimstone in her eyes.

We cannot give in.
We must look up,
Stand up, and go on.

Trusting in His unfailing love,
We must press on,
Picking up the pieces,
And rebuilding, regrouping,
Helping one another
To climb back up.

“ This the space where I will be doing a live blog on tonight's telethon, "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together," benefiting the American Red Cross' Hurricane Relief efforts. “
