Proverbs Chapter 1:1-19

This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. KJV

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

Proverbs 2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; (Of God’s Word)

This is our walk. Proverbs3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; Now Wisdom represents Jesus. 1Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Proverbs 4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Remember a Wise man acts upon the Word Mathew 7:24 Proverbs 5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Proverbs 6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
A Foolish man does not act upon the Word Mathew 7:26

Proverbs 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. This verse is saying a foolish man despises or dislikes the Word of God (Jesus) and the Gospel. The foolish may teach you just opposite of what this verse is saying such as you shouldn’t fear God. This verse says fearing God is the beginning of knowledge of this Word.

Proverbs 8 My son, hear the instruction (gospel) of (this Word) thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

Proverbs 10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. The sinner in this verse represents a foolish man who entices you to the Word of God. You are not to agree with him. He will tell you maybe even boasting he is a sinner. Paul Wrote in 2 Corinthians 11: 12 But what I do, that I will do, (he is a servant of righteousness) that I may cut off occasion (to sin) from them which desire occasion(to sin); that wherein they glory(in their sin), they may be found even as we.(in Christ)13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

Proverbs 11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: What they are saying is join us. Isaiah 56:11-12 11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand (this Word): they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine (teaching), and we will fill ourselves with strong drink (that we will be drunken from this Word); and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant. Ezekiel 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things (the Word of God); they have made her many widows (lost folk) in the midst thereof. Hosea 6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness. Jeremiah 5:26  For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap (with doctrines), they catch men. Even in Ephesians 4:14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; The verse says they lurk privily 2 Peter 2:1-3 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord (by works they deny him) that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Proverbs 12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Proverbs 13 We shall find all precious substance (in the Word), we shall fill our houses with spoil:

Proverbs 14 Cast in thy lot among us; (join our church) let us all have one purse (marked with the wrong Gospel)

Proverbs 15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Proverbs 16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Ezekiel 22:27 Her princes (preachers) in the midst thereof are like
wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. What a false preacher will do is lead you to walk under the curse of God’s law. Teaching you that it is ok to practice sin.

Proverbs 17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

Proverbs 18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. This is the righteous judgment of God. Revelation22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Proverbs 19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; (They want numbers) which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

The best is yet to come in this chapter. Please comment with encouragement if you would like to see more.
