MISS God's Will? Empty MISS God's Will?

Post  Waqar Daniel Mon 22 Oct 2007, 1:23 am

We normally MISS God's Will according to our own short comings. For example, King Solomon received the gift of Wisdom but he never used it for himself. King Solomon wrote himself in the Book of Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

...Fear the God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil

King Solomon knew everything and talked wisely through Holy Spirit, but he never used that wisdom, knowledge and understanding in his life. In the end he ended up worshipping Asherah.

Similarly, we also MISS God's Will due to following reasons.

M
Trusting our own Mental capabilities.

People are so fond of trusting their own mental capabilities and start asking worthless questions about God. For example many people believe in Aliens. As per people's account of sightings, if the Aliens are the creator, then why they look like cartoons and why we look better than them?

People believe in Big Bang theory, yet I find it amusing. Why some cells decided to become humans and some decided to become animals and plants?

We are always using our brains to denounce God and come up with stupid solutions like Darwin's theory. If Apes became humans over the years, then why do we still have apes on earth?

As Christians when we pray, we ask for things, then right after prayer, we forget the word TRUST and start asking ourselves, "Will this happen?" - "Will God do this for me?" - "Was my prayer heard?"

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6

I
Imitating the experiences of others rather than having our own personal relationship with LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we think that going to Church on Sundays is enough to take us through heavens, whatever our life style may be. What we forget is that this is not what God wants from us. He wants full submission of our thoughts and actions to be guided by His will and grace.

We are always fond of following others and making them our role-models, whether they are following evil. We think that if God did not say them anything, then He would not punish us also. How foolishly they are all mislead by satan.

Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of LORD Jesus Christ over those who were demon possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out"...One day the evil spirits answered them, "Jesus I know and I know about Paul, but who are you?"...they ran out of the house naked and bleeding (ACTS 19:13-16)

S
Setting our sights on temporal and not on eternal things

I have seen people complaining about the things they do not have and then try every means to get them. What they never understand that their lust for things will never end and nothing will satisfy them. They forget to put God FIRST in every thing.

Whether it is a job, we are more pleased to please our boss than God, this action surely shows that we put our boss before God.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever losess his life will save for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?... (Mark 8:35-37)

We cannot serve God with our sinful nature. Can we serve God and at the same time have LUST?

S
Stubbornness always leads us away from God's path or when God tries to lead us in a new path

Do not be like a horse or the mule which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you (Ps 32:9)

To follow sin is stubborness, many people have this wrong attitude, that this time I will sin and then I will ask for forgiveness. Many people carry this attitude "God is love and He will forgive me". This is a typical attitude when we try to cover our sins.

I think, we should never let MISS come between God and us, otherwise we are bound to MISS God's Will.

May God bless you all

I agree with you Daniel that with our own faults and covering of our sins, we miss God's will. This is so bad, and this always happen when we do not read Bible and rely on other people's little knowledge.

I tried to stop someone to marry a divorced person and this friend of mine gave an excuse that Jesus is our Savior and will save us in the end. I tried to show her verses from the Bible but she never listened and gave in to satan and his evil plans.

God bless you for posting it here and making it so simple for us.

I agree that this is really an amazing article. I would add this that we all sin first and then hide behind the verses of Bible.

I have come across many articles that God is love and He will forgive us all and believe me there are many who advocate such lies. If this is true then why did God send His son to save us?

God bless

I really enjoyed going through the article and liked the way the word "MISS" is used. We do not pay attention to some small things yet they hold huge meaning in our lives.

God bless you Daniel

This whole article reminds me of a verse from th Book of Proverbs.

He who fears the Lord has a
secure fortress
and for his children it will be a refuge (Proverbs 14:26)

Yes I agree with you palm that we normally and always do not consider very small things, yet what we think are small have huge meaning.

God bless you all
