Curse In a Purse - Sonnet

Curse In a Purse
With broken heart he sought a shadows fold;
retreat to that which he had always known,
the darkness dwells inside his own damned soul,
the Silver is now a curse he must own.
His deep fear and shame grow as madness creeps,
a hunter stalking his now fractured mind,
no rest or respite, he slumps down and weeps;
the forgiveness he seeks, he will not find.
A lone tree offers up a peaceful chance,
limbs groan under the weight upon his head,
defeated; death invites one final dance,
as he swings from a corded belt now dead.
We often learn from a life such as this,
how harm can hide within a liars kiss.
