Simple Prayer

Simple Prayer
I was outside watering my wife’s flowers yesterday.
I looked to the heavens and took a moment to pray.
Lord, it hasn’t rained here in quite some time.
And I’d like to ask, if you are a mind.
Lord, I see that small cloud drifting just over those trees.
But, thank you anyway; they probably need it more than me.
I finished all my watering and rolled up the hose pipe.
I took one more look at the heavens and went in for the night.
My wife called to me a little later, said its sprinkling look outside.
I looked out the window and joy filled me inside.
I had to thank the Good Lord, for I was sure amazed.
God heard my simple prayer and sent some rain my way.
My wife and I stood there and lifted our voices in praise.
And I’m happy to tell you, God still answers prayers these days.

What a beautiful faith inspiring poem and it is so true that God listens to our prayers. He always rain His blessings on us whether we deserve them or not. God bless you Irv and your wife.

Irv, I have no words to thank you and praise your poem. You write such simple poems yet they have great knowledge. You and Fenny have really got me into poetry. I cannot write but I can appreciate them.
I was afraid to put Poetry Section as many go beyond what is written and blaspheme. But Fenny and you have been a great blessing for this forum and for me. I always enjoy your poems and they are full of knowledge. The more I read, the more I learn and I thank God for sending you to this forum as a blessing to be a guide to us and specially to me.

Thank you Daniel for placing a poetry forum on this site; I so enjoy reading all the other things presented here and I do enjoy posting the poetry that GOD has place upon my heart. For I am nothing without GOD; HIM alone should be magnified in all of our lives. Thank you again for allowing HIS glory to be expressed on this site.
