Oral Exam
December 25th I took an exam
It was a self examination of who I really am
And the Examiner said, it’s an easy test
I’m an open book; my laugher confessed
He said, I’ll ask open questions, just to break the ice
Then maybe a practice quiz; I said, that’d be nice
Are they essay questions or are they multiple guess
I like short answers; again I confessed
And if I don’t finish, may I take it home
He said, it’s not a written exam; you’ll be done before long
I said, that’s good, I’m not that great with tests
I’m usually below average; once again I confessed
So I listened to the questions, he meticulously asked
And examined my life from present to past
Then orally I answered His soul searching quiz
And with tears in my eyes; I confessed I was His
