Strait And Narrow

I walked the broad familiar path; so many still now stroll

And I entered through the wide gate; seeking to save my soul

I was as many still are; saved in Jesus’ name

But I was still just as lost; my life had never changed

In my heart I knew; there was something I had missed

Agonizing over sin; I thirsted for righteousness

O Lord forgive me of my sins; though I deserve Thy wrath

Help me Heavenly Father; place me upon Thy path

Shatter my hardened heart O God; come and dwell inside

Fill me with the Holy Spirit; living waters I’ve denied

And He brought me to a strait gate; Lord, do I enter in alone

The way looks awfully narrow; the path is overgrown

The lock looks old and rusty; are you sure this is the way

Now I was even more confused; so once again I prayed

I’m trusting in You, God; in Your Salvation from my fate

I reached and grabbed that rusty lock and opened up the gate

Now I walk that narrow path; the one that’s slightly overgrown

And in the will of our loving Father; God directs me home

So seek ye that strait gate and that narrow path to trod

And give yourself unconditionally; to the will of God

Speaks volumes about our need to go from confession to consecration to true salvation; from reformation to transformation.
