How can you say, you love me; when your heart gives you away?

How can you say, you love me; when from My path you’ve strayed?

How can you say, you love me; when My name you’ve denied?

How can you say, you love me; when from My word you hide?

How can you say, you love me; when you make this Proverb true?

When as a dog returns to his vomit; when as folly to the fool

When as a washed pig; you’ve returned back to the mire

How can you say, you love me; when I’m no longer your desire?

How can you say, you love me; when your talents you refuse?

How can you say, you love me; when My temple you abuse?

When you no longer seek me; when you’ve silenced your prayers

How can you say, you love me; with no testimony to share?

How can you say, you love me; when from Me you’ve turned aside?

How can you say, you love me: when your filled with so much pride?

When life is all about you; from beginning until the end

How can you say, you love me; forgive me Father, I have sinned!

Really, I was thinking the same when someone asked me that she has been seeking God but she cannot find Him and the same questions arose in mind that God must be saying the same. Beautiful diction and I have really enjoyed your poem. The instructions in your poems always remind me of this Proverb;

As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens
another (Proverbs 21:17)

You have beautifully touched our transgressions but how wonderful is our God that if we ask Him to forgive us He does that. Thank you Irv for such a wonderful poem.

We all say that we love God, with all soul and strength. Most of us deal with hypocrisy and we only worship God with our lips and then get on with our worldly lives.

Do not bring ANYTHING with a DEFECT, because it will not be ACCEPTED on your behalf. (Leviticus 22:20)

Irv, I will be honest with you here, I also make tall claims regarding my love to God but somehow, many things come before God in my life and I am feel so weak. I remember one verse from the Bible;
