What did Adam and Eve eat? Empty What did Adam and Eve eat?

Post  Waqar Daniel Wed 27 Jun 2007, 6:47 pm

The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2-17)
Let me explain, how the word, APPLE came into this theology. One reason is that the Latin word for evil is malum and the Latin word for apple is also malum.

In the fourth century AD, the word malum appeared in the Latin Vulgate translation of Genesis in the phrase the tree of knowledge of good and evil. From that time on people began to associate the apple with the fruit which Eve ate.

Well, contrary to what the majority of people believe that it was an apple. I believe it was a grape and not apple.
Genesis 2:16: And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. So we call this forbidden fruit, and this forbidden fruit is forbidden.
There is only one fruit in the Bible that's forbidden anywhere in the Bible. Numbers 6:3 says He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree. Notice the vine is a tree. Vine tree--that's forbidden fruit.

Why is the vine tree for a Nazarite "forbidden fruit"? Well, the vine tree is obviously forbidden fruit because it's a type of blood. The vine tree, grape juice, represents blood. Matthew 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament. Then grape juice is a type of blood!.

So now, we know that a tree is forbidden, and grape juice is forbidden to the Nazarite; but, if grape juice is a type of blood, then blood should be forbidden. Let's turn to Genesis 9, and notice that blood is forbidden. So blood and grape juice are inseparably connected. Genesis 9:4: But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
In those days they shall no longer say: "'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.' But everyone shall die for his own sin. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, (Ezekiel 18:2)
Now in this verse, what new covenant God will make with us? OR in other words, what new covenant Jesus made with us in the New Testament. It was the covenant of salvation and of eternal life.
What do you mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge'? As I live, declares the Lord GOD, this proverb shall no more be used by you in Israel. Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die. (Ezekiel 18-3)
It clearly states that every soul who believes in God will be His from now onwards. And we see the proof of this,
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Now the question still remains what is the Tree of Good and Evil". Jesus answered this question Himself, when He opened the eyes of a beggar blind by birth.
Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, "Are we also blind?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, 'We see,' your guilt remains. (John 9-41)
Now let us compare this verse with what happened to Adam and Eve after eating the Forbidden Fruit
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. (Genesis 3)
I hope I have made it simple for everyone to understand. The question was just to make everyone study the Bible, although, it does not matter what Adam and Eve eat - The thing that matters is: that both of them DISOBEYED and in disobedience Eve lied. God told Adam not to eat from the tree, and God did not command Eve. Now Eve lied, when she said that she is NOT even allowed to touch the tree.
You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'" (Genesis 3)
Now let us see what happens to the person who adds to the word of God, in Revelation 22:18 we are asked not to add anything to the word of God or take away any word from word of God.

God bless
