Suffer Patiently
In the scriptures I have not found, a time for us to doubt
Not one mention of a time, to be uncertain about
Not a time to consider questionable or unlikely
Not a time for skepticism, reluctance or ambiguity
Yet our lives are filled with ups and downs
With times of smiles, with times of frowns
But only the times beyond the shadows of our doubt
Only those times, are we to be certain about
Like a time of war, like a time of peace
A time to keep silent, a time to speak
A time to laugh; a time to cry
A time to be born; a time to die
So what should we tell those; who are suffering
Those doubting God hears; the prayers that they bring
Suffer patiently, isn’t music to their ears
All we can really say; is God truly cares
Remember Jesus in the garden; tears poured out for all to see
All His life He knew of the cross; yet He suffered patiently
God loves each of us; no He doesn’t bring our pain
But now’s the time to draw nigh to Him; a time to praise His Holy Name
