It is in sharing
That I get to know you
I learn about myself
My short comings with others
Those with myself.
I learn of my human nature
Which often fails me
With the best of intentions,
Often I do not attain
Those I would like to aspire to.
People make me commit
they help keep me honest.
I deceive myself when
I isolate and rely solely
On my own understanding.
It is then my world
Becomes narrow and lopsided.
My pride does not
Want to admit
I am incomplete
Without others in my life.
Humility gives me the
Gift of littleness,
It strips me of myself
So that I learn to ask
Help from others.
It is then that I become
A better person and grow.
We really do need each other
It is growth to admit
That even the bad is for our good
For we learn from it.
