Sealed Unto the Day of Redemption
By Yuri Solomon

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

What a notion - That the Holy Spirit can be made sad. And we are always making Him sad. So much effort He makes, to help, to guide, often met with so much waywardness. But as much as He is grieved by our practices according to this verse, let me stress out of the same verse, He is never grieved in our position; For He affected that and it can never be unaffected. We are saved, the old songwriter said, "to the utmost" and He [the Holy Spirit] knows that, because He did it. And when he did it He did it right. What did He do? He took me down low, when I thought I was something, and showed me I was nothing, - a transgressor, a lawbreaker, an evildoer, a worker of iniquity, a man of unclean lips, a blasphemer, wicked... Who you? Yes me! And if you've been done, He told you that too, about you. But here is the good news, He called me righteous, placed me among the saints, called me a son, made me an heir and joint heir but most of all, in this text He sealed me. Like a gang, I've been initiated in and I got the tattoo on me. I'm in and there's no getting out. I'm in unto the day of redemption.

You know, in my childhood, Church would start on Sunday morning, in that shot gun house of a building, turned into a church house, and my old great uncle Charlie, would get down on his knees, in that old wooden folding chair, and he would pray, "Lord, when I get down to that old Jordan River, stick my sword in the sandy banks of time, to study war no more" Yes unto that day, I've been sealed. He got His mark on me. I can't be put out. I can't fall out. I can't be knocked out. I can't wear out. I can't bow out. I can't walk out.

Wait-a-minute! Can't you mess up? Won't God get tired of us? The text answers that in the three clauses of this verse. In the first, Paul points out what is possible in the present and the future we can, and often do brethren, make the Holy Spirit sad. However, in the second clause he points out the irreversible past work of the Holy Spirit He has sealed us that is done and can't be undone. That is Paul says, "Don't grieve the One that has already sealed us." Then in the third clause Paul tells us the extent and intent of the sealing "unto the day of redemption," not "until" but "unto." "Until" indicates "extent" alone. But "unto" indicates extent and intent. You were not only sealed to the point of the arrival of that day, but you are sealed for the purpose of that day as well.

One morning, my wife and I were just about ready for church. We had put my one and a half year old son on a little two piece suit, a nice little tie and shoes. But when we were ready to go out of the door we found him, in the bathroom playing in the toilet, soaking wet. He had so disappointed us, as we really had dressed him up for that day. Yet he had no regard for our intent, or that day.

That's what Paul is saying, The Holy Ghost is not made happy in the fact that he has dressed us up for that day and we go and play in the toilet. He sealed us that is His job, our job is to act like we've been sealed look like we've been seal walk like we've been seal talk like we've been sealed. But here's the good news, if you fail to do your part, his part will never fail He's grieved but He'll hold you He's saddened but He'll hold you He's displeased but He'll hold you Unto the day of redemption unto the day of glory All the way The hymnologist appropriately penned...

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee;Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Sealed Unto the Day of Redemption Empty seald Yes as long as you abide in Him

Anna and Lee disagree with you Dove, and with all the
smartest people of the world. God gave his word to the simple ones to
understand. The most intelligent people of the world could not hold a candle to
what God is telling us in his word. How could anybody miss that you need to work
out your own sins with tremble ling and fear Peter1:16-17 because it is written, "Be holy, for I
am holy.''

17. And if you call on the Father, who without
partiality judges according to each
one's work,
conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning
here in fear; Phillipians2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out
your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Listen
to me, this is heresy. We have a will don’t we? Well than God did not tell me don’t
have sex but if you do here is a condom just in case. God would be a confusing
God at that point why be Holy if He is calling all the shots. This is a all out
attack on the Church. Will you please read Jesus last words to the churches to
be overcomes your salvation does not end when you first believed but how you
end in that belief. Throughout the whole Word of God from Genesis to Revelation
the theme is sin and repentance and falling from sin and destruction and
forgiveness again. And yes God may a covenant with the Jews that he will keep
but were are these Jews and who are they The 144000, for one but they fallow
the Lamb wherever He goes. Jesus said you will, not see Me again, until you say
blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. What happen to the unrepentant
Jews, they die in their sins. You forget that Satan is the most powerful force
on earth, and he does control allot of evil. These so called preachers are been
deceived as simple as that. Sure you are sealed until the day of redemption, sure
no one will pluck you out of His hand. sure he lost none, But He is talking about
the true believers Who obey Him who walk not after the flesh but after the
Spirit God did not spare the Angels neither will he spare you the Word of God
said it not Anna You can loose anything God gives you. Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him
you also trusted, after you heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation; in whom also, having believed,
you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of
His glory. Can a seal be broken yes! Can you jump out of his hand yes! Are we
puppets no! Here is anther one that will counterfeit all the arguments. Mathew
24: "Who then is a faithful and
wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food
in due season?

46.
"Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find
so doing.

47.
"Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his
goods.

48.
"But if that evil servant says in his heart, `My master is delaying
his coming,'

49.
"and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with
the drunkards,

50.
"the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not
looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of,

51.
"and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the
hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. As I have said your
salvation, is complete when you finish the course. And I am not done yet. Sanctified
meaning to be set apart for God’s work Hebrews 10: so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

26. For
if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no
longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

27. but
a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will
devour the adversaries.

28.
Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony
of two or three witnesses.

29. Of
how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has
trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
Than it goes on to say in Hebrews 6:
4. For
it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the
heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

5. and
have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

6. if they fall away, to renew them
again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God,
and put Him to an open shame. The unsaved can’t fall away. Revelation 2:5
5. "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do
the first works, or else I
will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place unless you
repent. This is talking to a believer who once was saved and now God’s patients
is running out. No not once save always saved sorry I do not agree. Anastasia

Thank you Anastasia for your reply. You and Lee have all the right to disagree with the article and I also appreciate your true faith in Jesus Christ and I also appreciate that your faith is not to impress people but to impress, glorify and please the good God through Jesus.

The article talks of a promise made by God to us and this promise is extended to all righteous, sinners, believers and non-believers. However, the promise is extended to everyone but only those who do the will of God receive that promise.

As Jesus made a promise with us that He will give us Holy Spirit. But how many get the free gift of Holy Spirit? Even after getting this free gift, I have seen people falling down.

When Paul worte to Ephesians, he simply wrote that even if they are facing problems due to their faith, we must stand firm in faith and do not leave the faith. By saddening the Holy Spirit, he pointed out people who were deserting the faith or living in sin. He talks of a promise and I also believe that all the promises of our good God are only applicable to those who obey Him, follow His rules and worship Him.

I think you misunderstood the article. I hope that I have made the article more reader friendly now. I also thank you that by your reply, the article can now be understood in its full context.

God bless you Anastasia
