Promissory Note
I played the game of Monopoly with my life.
I was betting on doubles so I could roll twice.
I gambled everything on Community Chest.
In Satan’s hotels and houses, I spent the rest.
I rode the forbidden railroads ignoring Godly facts.
I bought Satan’s Utilities, paid his luxury tax.
No Free Parking; no Get Out Of Jail Free.
Hell’s Boardwalk and Park Place were all I could see.
I bought Marvin Gardens instead of saving my soul.
I was headed to Hell, I was not passing goal.
Then the Lord granted me, a last draw at Chance.
And I accepted Jesus, life’s eternal advance.
In the Lamb’s Book, my name is boldly wrote;
because Jesus offered himself as my Promissory Note.
