This war isn't over...

Post  christlovesu2 on Thu 18 Sep 2008, 5:01 pm

Hey guys,

Just wondering what you're thoughts are about the war in Iraq?

I've been hearing a lot of what McCain and Obama have been saying, and trying to see where I line up.

I know that I've been praying for them and I found this really cool site that was set up where if you spend only $10, they'll send a bible over to the troops.

It's called operationfreedombell.org.

I'm not quite sure if they're able to go to church over in Iraq, but at least some of them will now be able to read the Bible
and hopefully those who don't know the Lord, will have their eyes open to Him from the readings. What better time than now.

Anyways, if you get a chance, check out that website, it really seems like a cool thing.

Thank you for sharing the link here and I have visited the site and did the necessary. But let me explain to you. I live in a muslim country (Pakistan) that is far ahead of Iraq but we find it difficult to preach and get the Bibles although we do have Bible Society's shop and other sacremental church shops but Bibles are expensive. Many Christians in Pakistan do not have Bibles as they cannot afford to buy one. They use the Bibles that are provided to them in the Church.

I see many sites asking for money to give free Bibles in muslim countries where Christians live as minority. But I have yet to see one Bible being given free to either a Christian or a non-Christian. They all collect huge amounts. I get Bible requests from India and some other muslim countries. I try to help them as much as I can possibly afford. Distributing Christian literature is although not banned but no courier would carry it. Couriers charge extra money to get Bibles through back door. Can you see the picture?

Specially in Iraq and Afghanistan, these people cannot even distribute free Bibles in Pakistan. So what they are collecting money for? They cannot even go and give free Bibles in places in Pakistan that are moderate because people will literally rip their skins off their bones.

God bless you and your family
