Celebrities and Kabbalah
Christian Kabbalah
The Renaissance saw the birth of Christian Kabbalah (also Christian Cabbala, Christian Cabala). Interest grew among some Christian scholars in what they saw to be the magical aspects of Judaic Kabbalah.
The movement was influenced by a desire to interpret aspects of Christianity more mystically. Greek Neoplatonic documents came into Europe from Constantinople in the reign of Mehmet II. Neoplatonism had been prevalent in Christian Europe and had entered into Scholasticism since the translation of Greek and Hebrew texts in Spain in the 13th century. The Renaissance trend was a relatively short-lived phenomenon, ending by 1750.
After the 18th century, Kabbalah became the province of European occultism, some of which had a religious basis; but the main thrust of Christian Kabbalah was by then dead. A few attempts have been made to revive it in recent decades, particularly in relation to the Neoplatonism of the first two chapters of the Gospel of John, but it has not entered into mainstream Christianity.
Jewish Kabbalists
Kabbalah (Hebrew: קַבָּלָה, lit. "receiving") is a discipline and school of thought discussing the mystical aspect of Judaism. It is a set of esoteric teachings meant to define the inner meaning of both the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible) and traditional Rabbinic literature, as well as to explain the significance of Jewish religious observances.
Kabbalah teaches that God is neither matter nor spirit. Rather God is the creator of both.
This question, "what is the nature of God?", prompted Kabbalists to envision two aspects of God, (a) God himself, who in the end is unknowable, and (b) the revealed aspect of God that created the universe, preserves the universe, and interacts with mankind. Kabbalists speak of the first aspect of God as Ein Sof (אין סוף); this is translated as "the infinite", "endless", or "that which has no limits". In this view, nothing can be said about this aspect of God. This aspect of God is impersonal. The second aspect of divine emanations, however, is at least partially accessible to human thought. Kabbalists believe that these two aspects are not contradictory but, through the mechanism of progressive emanation, complement one another. See Divine simplicity; Tzimtzum. The structure of these emanations have been characterized in various ways: Four "worlds" (Azilut, Yitzirah, Beriyah, and Asiyah), Sefirot, or Partzufim ("faces"). Later systems harmonize these models.
Some Kabbalistic scholars, such as Moses ben Jacob Cordovero, believe that all things are linked to God through these emanations, making us all part of one great chain of being. Others, such as Schneur Zalman of Liadi (founder of Lubavitch [Chabad] Hasidism), hold that God is all that really exists; all else is completely undifferentiated from God's perspective.
Such views can be defined as monistic panentheism. According to this philosophy, God's existence is higher than anything that this world can express, yet he includes all things of this world down to the finest detail in such a perfect unity that his creation of the world effected no change in him whatsoever. This paradox is dealt with at length in Chabad Chassidic texts. Wikipedia

A movement that concentrates on studying the Zohar, a commentary on the Bible that the Centre calls the Holy Grail. Kabbalah is said to be the oldest wisdom of the world, revealing all the spiritual and physical laws that govern the cosmos and the human soul.
The Centre says Kabbalah is about "light," not religion, and claims that Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Shakespeare, and Freud all studied Kabbalah. Celebrities and Kabbalah

It is an amazing article and unveils the curtain over these people who practice it showing their motives. To stay young is all they want but every beginning has an end. Thank you for putting it here.

Re: Celebrities and Kabbalah
I agree that it is an interesting and intriguing article. I did not know that are Christian Kabbalists. The thing most intriguing is the modern day use of Kabbalah. This amazes me because people won't believe in Jesus but would believe in anything. No wonder why these people keep on looking for peace and joy because there is no Jesus in them. They cannot be comforted with any philosophy, and neither with any ritual whether spiritual or mystical.
Blessings!

Re: Celebrities and Kabbalah
While the rest of Israel swooned over visiting international pop star Madonna, a leading Jerusalem-based rabbi expressed disgust over the invasion of the Jewish state by the singer and a small entourage of Hollywood friends.
Madonna was joined in visiting Israel for the Rosh Hashanah holiday by movie star Demi Moore and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O'Donnell and fashion designer Donna Karan, all of whom are practitioners of a cultish Hollywood-based version of Rabbinical Jewish mysticism, or Kabbala.
The director of a major Jerusalem-based Kabbala yeshiva told The Jerusalem Post that while he is unimpressed with the antics of Madonna and her friends, he is not surprised by their attraction to Kabbala.
“It is a known fact in Kabbala that impurity and evil are inherently attracted to sanctity. That's why people of Hollywood, a place of iniquity and lasciviousness, are naturally attracted to the holiness of Kabbala,” said the rabbi on condition of anonymity. “That's why someone like that lady - I don't even want to mention her name - is so attracted to the Kabbala.”
Despite not being Jewish, Madonna declared herself an “ambassador for Judaism” during a two-hour meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem.
The version of Kabbala practiced by Madonna and other Hollywood stars has been roundly rejected by mainstream Kabbala and Torah scholars and rabbis both in the US and Israel. Rabbi: Madonna drawn to Judaism as evil is drawn to holiness

Re: Celebrities and Kabbalah
Interesting information is being shared here on Kabbalah. I found a video on YouTube where Rav Michael Laitman, PhD explains five basic principles of Kabbalah in an interview with award-winning author William Simon. From the film "The House in the Orchard...
