Looking Back to Look Forward Simplydivine

Looking back ...
I see the good Hand of the Lord
Taking me back home
reuniting me with my family
rekindling long-lost intimacy
After a long time away from Rome
Taking a good friend back Home
in a twinkling of an eye, suddenly

God graciously made provision
Befitting the August occasion
Aligning me with new people
Allowing new battles and struggles
To show all things are possible
In each phase, threshold and level

The Most high allowed or orchestrated pains
To bring me into or show me vision of a new gain
He ordered steps into certain difficulties
To show another dimension of possibilities
He brought me to strange undiscovered places
To manifest a new vista of hope and sweet grace.

He enabled me to mourn and from it have a song-
Song of deliverance, song in the night, song of songs
I see the birth of Sing a New Song
A promise that had lingered long

Looking back I see His unmerited favour
Where all I had was fruitless, futile labour
Wow! How some disappointments
Became times of great appointment
How some moments of rigour
Brought unforgettable humour.

Looking forward
I know He is my Helper, Comforter
Provider, Healer, Shelter, Strengthener
I know He is the Unchanging Changer
The Alpha and the Omega, Author and Finisher.
Great is His faithfulness and loving kindness
Great His goodness and graciousness

The Glorious, victorious God will remain strong
Whether I am alone or in a throng.
He will continue the good work He has begun
Through Jesus Christ, the Redeemer-His Son.

The road ahead may be foggy, cloudy, hazy
Crooked, twisted, rough, muddy or scary
I know whom I serve and Whom I believe
He remains constant; He does not swerve
I look forward to new exploits, great in-roads
Into the Promised Land that has been a load
Adamant ants and stubborn giants must flee
Giving way t the will of the Almighty.

He can be trusted during rain or shine
And regardless of the weather, I’ll be fine
Yea, though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death, I will look to the Lilly-
Lilly of the Valley, Sweet Rose of Sharon
The Resurrection and the Life, my Sun
He is exceedingly abundantly able
To turn every stumbling wicked tables
Into a sumptuous table of divine delicacies
To show forth the glory of the High and Holy.

Isaiah 41:10 (New King James Version)
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:

“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isa43:1-2
3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isa26:3
Isaiah 54:1-3 (King James Version)
Isaiah 54
1Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
3For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.Ps103:3-5
Psalm 111
Praise to God for His Faithfulness and Justice
1 Praise the LORD!

I will praise the LORD with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.

2 The works of the LORD are great,
Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
3 His work is honorable and glorious,
And His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made His wonderful works to be remembered;
The LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
5 He has given food to those who fear Him;
He will ever be mindful of His covenant.
6 He has declared to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations.

7 The works of His hands are verity and justice;
All His precepts are sure.
8 They stand fast forever and ever,
And are done in truth and uprightness.
9 He has sent redemption to His people;
He has commanded His covenant forever:
Holy and awesome is His name.

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever.
Psalm 92:4 (New King James Version)
4 For You, LORD, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.
Hebrews 13:5-6 (New King James Version)
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say:

“ The LORD is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? ’Heb 13:5-6
