A Desperate Try
I was the disobedient servant; yes it started with me
I partook of the fruit; of God’s forbidden tree
My eyes were opened; but innocence was gone
Wisdom was gained; I try righting my wrong
I reach higher and higher, I reach ever so high
Grabbing those fig leaves for a desperate try
Jumping higher; I get the loftiest and prettiest ones
I think sewing them together can undo what I’ve done
And donning the apron which hides my nudity
I wait for God’s innocence to come back unto me
Yet no works of my hands though straight from the source
Can span the void opened; my taste set the course
