London: a Ghost town?
Traffic jam, gridlock and pandemonium were drummed up the politicians and so many people have stayed out of London and some of the Olympic lanes are not even being used because it is so quiet in central London.Number of visitors down by 40%
About 100,000 may have come as a result of the Olympics but 300,000 have stayed away.
The Olympic crowd is not spending their money elsewhere and not doing what other tourist would do.
Cab drivers are reeling and so are hoteliers, theatres, museums, tour and other businesses
Another reason could also be that hotels put up their prices because of the Olympic so many people deferred their holidays to London.
