John 11:9-11



KJV(i) 9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. 10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. 11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. 10 It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”

11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

9 Jesus spoke to them by using things they knew such as hours in a day to describe to things that did not know. When we come to Jesus we will see the path He leads us to. As long as we are looking in the light we will not stumble but to many times we take our eyes off Jesus and see darkness and stumble.

10 Then there are those who reject light and chose they ways of the darkness and stumble and fall into sin because they do not have a hope in Jesus and can not truly see anything but what their heart wants. We as believers will fall when we chose to walk without the Lord’s guidance.

11 The bible often refers to the believers as going to sleep all those who have faith are dear friends to Jesus, He died for us. The believers that are asleep will all be wakening but Jesus one day.
