Please Explain

[color=blue]He abolished the Jewish Law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people in union with himself, in this way making peace. [color:c528=black:c528]Ephesians 2:15

Please explain this passage becuase I am unable to understand this passge. Which Law did Jesus break? Did He break Ten Commandment?

Well this is a tough question to answer and to very honest I never thought of it. Thank you for posting the question here so that we all learn through any member what that law was.

According to Mathew 5:17 and Romans 3:31 teach us that Jesus Christ did not ome to abolish the Law rather He came to fulfill the Law.

However, I would request any member to explain this verse of Ephesians 2:15.

Although I am no scholar but I think that it is simple to understand this passage. I hope that other members will also put their feedback also.

When we read Old Testament we read that Isreal was a Nation and God gave them social laws as well as religious laws. The Gentiles had to live according to these social laws to be a part of Isreal.

I think that Jesus abolished these social laws and not religious laws.

Yes this a tricky one but I know there must be some answer to it and I hope that someone may clarify this passage of the New Testament.

Jesus did not abolish 10 commandments infact preached them and disciples too preached them.

Jews were given two main laws, (1) Religious Laws (2) Social Law. Theologians catergorized them into 3 or 4 categories but I put them under two categories.

What Jesus abolished was the Law of Atonement, and the way of worship. Jews has a High Priest who used to offer sacrifices on behalf of people of Isreal. Gentiles had no part in this priesthood.

When Jesus came on Earth, He abolished the Law of Atonement, and became High Priest for us in front of Heavenly Father. He offers His blood for our atonement and sins and before that animal sacrifice was practised through the High Priest on behalf of Jews.

Thank you Daniel I also believe that Jesus came to fulfill the law. Now we are under grace so that means no more stoning. you sin you repent and ask Him to help you be a overcomer, and if you do not give up you can overcome with His power. God put the Laws in our hearts and in our minds,. He es ever so gentle and He has allot of patience with us. I wrote a letter that might interest you.
