It details his arrest, trial, and crucifixion, events commonly known as "The Passion". It is co-written, co-produced and directed by Mel Gibson. The film’s dialogue is in Aramaic, Latin, and Hebrew, with English subtitles. It was filmed in Matera, Italy and Cinecittà Studios, Rome.
