Mother is Home
Mother is Home
Her breathing was shallow; the time was near
We awaited God’s angels; to take her from here
And thoughts entered into my mind
Of the past year’s moments in time
The family resembled her struggling life
With hugs and kisses; with turmoil and strife
Gathering together as she drew close to death
Then pushing away with her recovering breath
The message was clear; could we not get it right
She was holding on for us; that was the fight
She wasn’t sure; we could hold the family together
We were so fickle; not like birds of a feather
But it was okay, God was calling her home
No more pain to bear; no more suffering along
And I got the message; I read the signs
As she went home with God; at that moment in time
I cried for the loss; but wouldn’t bring her back
God pricked at my heart; to get me on track
And I listened to the Lord and invited Him in
He forgave my trespasses; He forgave my sins
Now when I reflect, on the year’s moments in time
I’m able to see God’s hand; so loving and kind
Mother is home; no more suffering, no more pain
And God used my loss; and He made it my gain

Remarkable Hope
Indeed, what a remarkable hope, we have even in death.
Absent in the body, present with the Lord.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
Ps116:15
One day we shall meet again.
How wonderful that He could turn your pain into a gain!
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your comments Blessed4ever and Fenny. To be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord; what a day that will be. Blessings Irv
