James 2:24
Yes I agree, but remember -It is not of works that we have been saved, but by the blood
and sacrifice of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ. Works are the manifestation of
salvation, Works are your proof that your have been saved. That’s what James
2:24 is saying.( You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by
faith only.)

Re: Titus
I think Charles your commentary was little misunderstood here. You have rightly deciphered the verses. Grace of God means that when we accept Jesus as our LORD and Savior, He does not look at our sins (before our acceptance of Him as LORD and Savior) but He forgives us and we become new in Him. However, once we have accepted Jesus, then we have to keep on doing good as commanded by God.
The best example of Grace, I can find in the Bible is the thief who was crucified with Jesus. He believed in Jesus and Jesus told him that he would be with him in paradise. So when we receive salvation, God does not look at our evil ways of the past. But then the whole Bible is a guide that tells us how to live holy as God is holy.
Another best example of living a life after salvation I find is the life of Paul. Before salvation, he was a proud young man, killing Christians. He was proud of his knowledge of the Scriptures about his race and the way he worshipped God. But we see a big change in his life. He becomes the most humble person. He was flogged, he was thrown before the animals. Infact we see a 360 degrees change in his life and personality. He then lived a life that was an express image of Jesus Christ.
Now these two examples, show how Grace of God comes on us and then after receiving the Grace how do we have to live. Thank you Charles for sharing your knoweldge with us.
God bless you all
