Is Easter Evil?
Easter is not the day Jesus arose, Easter is infect a evil and ungodly practice. It was said that Nimord’s wife ascended into heaven and the god’s sent her back to earth in a giant egg. The egg landed in the Euphrates river, then the egg broke open and out came the bare breasted goddess of sexual desire, Easter. And to pove that she was a god, she turned a egg laying bird into a egg laying rabbit. The priest also died eggs in the blood of the sacrificed babies they would offer to the sun gods.

Re: Is Easter Evil?
Is Easter Evil?
Absolutely not because we celebrate resurrection of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.
You must be joking, I cannot believe this at all. How many child sacrifices will you attribute to Christian Festvals?
Christmas
You do not celebrate Christmas because you believe that on Christmas, child sacrifice was made to Molech.
Easter
Now on Easter again, you have attributed child sacrifice to Nimrod's wife.
Thank God we have only two Christian Festivals, otherwise you would have attributed child sacrifice to all of them.
History of Easter
The ancient Saxons celebrated the return of spring with an uproarious festival commemorating their goddess of offspring and of springtime, Eastre. When the second-century Christian missionaries encountered the tribes of the north with their pagan celebrations, they attempted to convert them to Christianity. They did so, however, in a clandestine manner.
Early Christians celebrating Easter
It would have been suicide for the very early Christian converts to celebrate their holy days with observances that did not coincide with celebrations that already existed. To save lives, the missionaries cleverly decided to spread their religious message slowly throughout the populations by allowing them to continue to celebrate pagan feasts, but to do so in a Christian manner.
As it happened, the pagan festival of Eastre occurred at the same time of year as the Christian observance of the Resurrection of Christ. It made sense, therefore, to alter the festival itself, to make it a Christian celebration as converts were slowly won over. The early name, Eastre, was eventually changed to its modern spelling, Easter.
The Date of Easter
Prior to A.D. 325, Easter was variously celebrated on different days of the week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In that year, the Council of Nicaea was convened by emperor Constantine. It issued the Easter Rule which states that Easter shall be celebrated on the first Sunday that occurs after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox. However, a caveat must be introduced here. The "full moon" in the rule is the ecclesiastical full moon, which is defined as the fourteenth day of a tabular lunation, where day 1 corresponds to the ecclesiastical New Moon. It does not always occur on the same date as the astronomical full moon. The ecclesiastical "vernal equinox" is always on March 21. Therefore, Easter must be celebrated on a Sunday between the dates of March 22 and April 25.
Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny is not a modern invention. The symbol originated with the pagan festival of Eastre. The goddess, Eastre, was worshipped by the Anglo-Saxons through her earthly symbol, the rabbit.
The Germans brought the symbol of the Easter rabbit to America. It was widely ignored by other Christians until shortly after the Civil War. In fact, Easter itself was not widely celebrated in America until after that time.
Easter Egg
As with the Easter Bunny and the holiday itself, the Easter Egg predates the Christian holiday of Easter. The exchange of eggs in the springtime is a custom that was centuries old when Easter was first celebrated by Christians.
From the earliest times, the egg was a symbol of rebirth in most cultures. Eggs were often wrapped in gold leaf or, if you were a peasant, colored brightly by boiling them with the leaves or petals of certain flowers.
Today, children hunt colored eggs and place them in Easter baskets along with the modern version of real Easter eggs -- those made of plastic or chocolate candy.
Conclusion
The information you have given about Easter is totally false and has no historical evidence, rather it is malafide. It is really sad, that we modern day christians, play in the hands of Jews and Muslism because only they would ridicule and reject the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christian. The early Christians are far too better than us, they were not living free lives like us, yet they never forget to celebrate the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, amidst all the persecution they had to suffer.
Pagans eat food and drink water, so leave eating food and drinking water because it is a pagan way of living. What do you say about this?
Christians only celebrate Easter due to resurrection of Jesus Christ on the thrid day of crucifixion. It has no connections to any pagan festival or to any Child Sacrifice.
For me Easter is Hope and joy, that Heavenly Father promised to all of us, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever, believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:1). For me Easter Is Holy and sacred, for you it is evil. It is all, in what we believe in that makes it holy or evil.

Depends on how you view it
Easter is celebrated around the world by Christians as the day of resurrection of Christ. This is the day when we celebate the victory of eternal life over death. This is the day when Christ 'took the sting out of death'. This is the day when we became the friends of the 'Son of God'. So, the way how we regard Easter is how we regard our own resurrection. Do we celebrate Easter because of one specific day or do we celebrate Easter because this day we became victorious over the mechanisations of Devil. This is the day when our Creator took on Himself utmost shame, embarrasement and pain so that we 'may have everlasting life' and may have 'homes' in Paradise.
So, really it is relative. Those who are happy because Christ was resurrected on this day, obviosuly do not regard it evil. Those who feel the goodness of this day, those who rejoice and are rejunvenated on this day themselves, celebrate this day of their own personal vitcory. So, it is all dependant on one's understanding, prespective and vision.

Re: Is Easter Evil?
My vote is NO, “Is sin dead? No, not by a long shot. Yet as Easter approaches, some pastors and theologians worry: How can Christians celebrate Jesus' atonement for their sins and the promise of eternal life in his resurrection if they celebrate Easter? Why can't we celebrate Easter, what is wrong with it?

Easter is very evil
I thought you said that you would not go beyond what is written. The bunny rabbit and the Easter egg is not written anywhere in the Bible, if they are please point our for me where it is. And if Easter was the day Jesus arose, which it is not, doesn’t the Easter rabbit take Jesus place just as Santa does for Christmas. What is the meaning of the name "Easter"? You haven been led to suppose the word means "resurrection of Christ." For 1600 years the western world has been taught that Christ rose from the dead on Sunday morning. But that is merely one of the fables the apostle Paul warned readers of the New Testament to expect. The resurrection did not occur on Sunday! For the astonishing proof setting forth the exact time of the Resurrection, write for our free booklet, "The Resurrection."
The name "Easter" is merely the slightly changed English spelling of the name of the ancient Assyrian goddess Ishtar, pronounced by the Assyrians exactly as we pronounce "Easter." The Babylonian name of this goddess was Astarte, consort of Baal, the Sun god, whose worship is denounced by The Almighty in the Bible as the most abominable of all pagan idolatry.
Look up the word
"Easter" in Webster's dictionary. You will find: "AS. (Anglo-Saxon), from name of an old Teuton goddess of spring".
In the large volume Hastings Bible Dictionary, only six lines are given to the name "Easter" because it occurs only once in the Bible and that only in the King James translation. Says Hastings: "Easter, used in Authorized Version as the translation of 'Pascha' in Acts 12:4, 'intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people'. Revised Version has substituted correctly 'the Passover.'"
APOSTLES OBSERVED PASSOVER
The World Almanac, 1950 edition, page 704, says: "In the second century, AD., Easter Day was, among
Christian in Asia Minor" (that is, in the Churches at Ephesus, Galatia, etc... the so-called "Gentile" churches raised up by the Apostle Paul) "the 14th of Nisan, the seventh month of the Jewish calendar." In other words, the 14th day of the first month of the sacred calendar, and it was not then called by the name of the pagan deity "easter", but by the BIBLE name "PASSOVER".

Re: Is Easter Evil?
Servant you are confused between worship of a goddess and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jew Christians called it Pascha and Gentile Christians called it Easter. What is wrong in celebrating resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Day?
Haven't you read in the Bible
No Christian worships Easter egg or Easter bunny, we all celebrate and give thanks to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and this what it makes the day holy. Is it going beyond what is written?
The history you quoted is totally irrelevant and made up. No wife of Nimrod was named Ishtar and Ishtar while pronouncing does not sound like Easter. Moreover, Ishtar was daughter of sin and goddess of fertility whereas, Eastre goddess was goddess of Spring. So there is a huge difference between the both. Nimrod as Bible states, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD" (Genesis 10:9). Not even Assyrians records will prove your story that Ishtar was Nimrod's wife because his wife/wives names are no where recorded.
I request you to ponder on this verse
Do you remember when disciple of Jesus began to pick some heads of grain and eat them on the Sabbath Day (Mathew 12:1-8) what was Jesus' reply to Pharisees? I tell you that one greater than temple is here....For the Son of Man is LORD of the Sabbath
Christians thank, praise and celebrate Jesus' resurrection on Easter Day and no way it is going beyond what is written. We do it for Jesus, so it is holy. The preaching of Gospel of Jesus Christ is resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. So what is wrong if we celebrate and call it Easter Day. We are not celebrating Easter Day, we are rejoicing in the resurrection of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.
God bless you
Haven't you read in the Bible
When we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it makes our celebration holy according to Romans 11:16.If part of a batch of dough is made holy by offered to God, then all of the dough is holy. If the roots of a tree is holy, the rest of the tree is holy too. (Romans 11:16)

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath Day. These are shadow of the things that were to come; the reality. however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes in great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with his head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. (Colossians 2:16-19)

Re: Is Easter Evil?
We celebrate a risen SAVIOR. We celebrate the re-birth that is freely given to those who seek the LORD. Our celebration of Easter, is that JESUS died for our sins, and conquered death and the grave, for us, so that we can have eternal life. Easter celebration is about faith in a risen SAVIOR. Nothing more, nothing less...
John 3:13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
None other than JESUS, has ever conquered the grave, for us. PRAISE HIS NAME!

The Festival of Life
On Easter day we celebrate Christ's victory over death. So, how do we go about it: - we talk about the purpose of the resurrection of LORD GOD - we congratulate each other on the resurrection of our LORD - we sing hymns or joyful songs all aimed at the celebration of this victory of life over death through Jesus Christ - we talk about life after death (in a very Christian context)
And what is evil:
When we talk about evil. When we worship evil. When we practice evil. When we take part in evil practices. When our actions depict evil. And, most of all when we proclaim HOLY as evil.
And what is evil:
When we talk about evil. When we worship evil. When we practice evil. When we take part in evil practices. When our actions depict evil. And, most of all when we proclaim HOLY as evil.

Re: Is Easter Evil?
This Easter when I will go to Church, Servant, I will pray for you that God may give some brains to you. Who are you to call us evil, if Daniel is lenient to all of us, then it does not mean that you start writing against. I take this personally, read more Bible and gain some understanding. If someone does not agree with you, it seems as if someone has taken a lollypop from a child and that child in agony screams and shouts. I personally do not like you to write articles against us. No one has done this except you and still you call yourself a true Christian? First you need to look in your life and then look at others, first point finger at yourself and then to others. I do not care what Daniel will say, but I took this very personally. Why are you that you write against the members of this forum? Is it because no one listened to your strange philosophy? Or you think that you are someone holy dropped from heavens? If you want respect, then give respect to others too. No Easter is not evil and it is Holy, and all those who call Easter evil are evil.Do you see a man who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than him (Proverbs 29:20)

you know whats important here, as with any celebration is what your motives are.are you celebrating our risen lord?or not.within your heart.I know theres no easter bunny.yes the world seems to celebrate for the wrong reasons ,but thats the world not us as christians.I believe christmas has become way to commercial, and many people take offense with the words merry christmas, and even businesses.these are examples of the worlds thinking.but as with any celebration regarding our savior,it should be everyday, every hour, every minute, every second,we have the opportunity to give thanks and celebrate HIM WHO DIED FOR US. that matters, not a date on a calendar.
